Flappy Bird Taken Down From iOS And Android App Stores By Its Developer

The insanely popular mobile game Flappy Bird has been removed from both iOS and Android app store by its creator. Developer Dong Nguyen who created the game which took the internet by the rage tweeted on Saturday that he will take down the game. “ I am sorry ‘Flappy Bird’ users, 22 hours from now, I will take ‘Flappy Bird’ down. I cannot take this anymore” , said the tweet . Flappy Bird was released last year, but it really picked up steam last month, and is currently the No. 1 free app on the Apple and Google app stores. Android version of the game has been downloaded up to 50 million times, and attracted more than half a million reviews.  It went viral after being promoted almost entirely by social media users and was reviewed on a YouTube channel by more than 22 million subscribers.  Flappy Bird, which he said was inspired by Nintendo’s Mario Bros, has been earning on average $50,000 a day from advertising, Dong said in a media interview. For those who are unaware of this sensation, the game featured a small bird that players flew between green pipes, tapping the touch-screen to keep him airborne. The Vietnamese game developer also tweeted that he won’t sell the game to anyone and that he is continuing to make other games. Flappy Bird is no longer available on both the app stores however,users who still have downloaded the game on their smartphone or tablet can still play. Have you played Flappy Bird?
